Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with hands-on expertise in large-scale data processing pipelines using Python and PySpark.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Telemetry, Big Data, and backend engineering, with experience in implementing applications for large retailers.

A domain understanding of IoT systems, HVAC/refrigeration equipment, and mechanical solutions is highly desirable to effectively communicate with business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data processing pipelines using Python and PySpark.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and implement feedback.
  • Work closely with data scientists to develop predictive models and analytics applications.
  • Ensure high-quality code and adherence to best practices.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
  • Expertise in Python, Pyspark, and SQL.
  • Hands-on Python/PySpark coding experience.
  • Strong Big Data experience, preferably on GCP.
  • Telemetry experience.
  • Streaming experience with analytics and data processing.
  • Business analytics experience and working directly with business partners to implement feedback.
  • Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
    • Strong understanding of IoT systems, especially in Refrigeration units, HVAC systems, Controllers and sensors.
    • Familiarity with equipment and systems from Emerson, Honeywell, or similar.
    • Ability to explain how data flows through IoT units and how sensors are designed and monitored.
