Track Design Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Track Design Specialist to support our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in preparing preliminary design and ensuring efficient execution of track alignment projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing Horizontal and Vertical Track Centre Line Alignment: Responsible for designing horizontal and vertical track centre line alignment, ensuring accurate and efficient results.
  • Points and Crossings Preparation: Prepares points and crossings based on concept of operation, guaranteeing seamless integration into larger projects.
  • Standard Working Procedures: Creates and implements standard working procedures to ensure work execution as per SOD (Statement of Design), promoting consistency and quality.
  • Component Analysis: Analyzes each as-built component with tolerance, precedes construction based on redesign with original tender design, and suggests suitable solutions to avoid infringement during mass construction while maintaining quality standards.
  • Project Planning and Coordination: Plans and coordinates day-to-day activities involved in Rail Track Design & Infrastructure Development projects, ensuring smooth project delivery.
  • Elevated Sections Expertise: Possesses extensive knowledge of various design methodologies in elevated sections, enabling effective implementation of complex designs.
  • Rail Design Software Proficiency: Proficient in rail design software, particularly swept path analysis, regression analysis, and drain, facilitating accurate calculations and efficient design processes.
  • Cant and Transition Calculations: Responsible for preparation and review of design calculations for cant, cant deficiency, cant excess, speed, rate of change of cant, rate of change of cant deficiency, and transition, ensuring precise and reliable results.
  • Quality Checks and Assurance: Conducts quality checks/assurance for deliverables, review meetings, and issue resolutions, upholding high standards of quality and professionalism.
  • Site Visits and Interface Collaboration: Performs site visits for interface and monitoring purposes, ensuring construction activity and site conditions align with project requirements and collaborating with the entire interface team, including geotech, structure, signal, architecture, utility, traction, rolling stock, and multi-model integration.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering: Must hold a graduate degree in civil engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 10 Years of Experience: Minimum total experience of 10 years, out of which 5 years should be in relevant experience in track alignment of metro projects.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possesses excellent written and oral English communication skills, enabling effective collaboration and communication with diverse stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Demonstrates ability to problem-solve, especially in an integrated project delivery environment, applying industry best practices.
  • Leadership Skills: Self-motivated individual with outstanding leadership skills and the ability to influence without authority, leading teams and making independent decisions.
