Job Description

The role of a retail functional consultant involves leading business transformation initiatives in the retail and quick-service restaurant sectors. The successful candidate will drive customer engagement, operational efficiency, and business growth through effective client engagement, techno-functional aspects, stakeholder collaboration, and onboarding.

  • Conduct workshops to understand client pain points, business processes, reporting needs, and dashboard requirements
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications
  • Develop technical fit documents from workshop-derived functional specifications
  • Highlight feature/reporting/dashboarding gaps for resolution
  • Collaborate with technical teams to configure and deploy systems aligned with business objectives
  • Act as a trusted advisor to marketing, operations, and IT teams
  • Ensure alignment between business strategy and technology roadmap
  • Deploy functional specifications in software (reports, dashboards, models, audiences)
  • Train super users on the platform and explain support mechanisms

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in retail or QSR consulting, business analysis, or solution delivery
  • Strong understanding of retail/QSR operations: POS, loyalty, CRM, inventory, and customer experience
  • Knowledge of Marketing Automation tools and their functionality
  • Familiarity with analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Google Analytics)
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, client-facing environments

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following qualifications are highly preferred:

  • Experience with omnichannel retail or QSR transformation projects
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and API integrations
