Software Development Engineer in Test Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in designing and building scalable automation frameworks, integrating them with CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring end-to-end automation coverage for UI, API, and backend systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, TestNG/JUnit, and REST Assured.
  • Build and implement scalable, reusable test automation libraries and utilities.
  • Automate testing for web, API, and backend services.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, DevOps, and QA teams to integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, etc.).
  • Perform code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting of automation scripts.
  • Ensure test coverage, maintain test documentation, and provide automation strategy input.
  • Drive best practices in test automation across the team.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers on automation and coding practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong coding experience in Java is mandatory.
  • Expertise in automation framework design and development is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, TestNG/JUnit, Maven/Gradle is essential.
  • API automation experience using REST Assured, Postman, Swagger is necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database validation is expected.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) is required.
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodology (Scrum/Kanban) is necessary.
