We're seeking an experienced Enterprise Cloud Database Architect to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional results.
Job SummaryThis role involves deploying, operating, and maintaining NICE's global customer-hosted databases while resolving customer issues requiring direct access to database infrastructure. You will report to the Technical Manager and work closely with the Database Team to manage databases in On-Prem data centers and AWS Cloud.
Your primary focus will be on ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our databases, as well as providing excellent support to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Administer AWS console for optimal database management.
- Deploy new database tasks and RDS services using Terraform code.
- Analyze DB health checks and perform availability checks using CloudWatch and Performance Insight tools.
- Monitor and analyze log/error logs for databases.
- Configure alerts, monitor thresholds, and fine-tune alerting systems.
- Perform RDS instance actions and compare them with Terraform code.
- Export/import or backup/restore specific data from Oracle or SQL Server databases.
- Install and deploy databases, configure backups, maintenance jobs, and other features as needed.
- Perform database administration tasks, including upgrading to latest versions.
- Restore data, install patchsets/service packs, upgrade/downgrade editions, troubleshoot locking/corruption issues, and implement solutions with minimal downtime.
- Perform operational duties, including database backups, application server health, service recycling.
- Identify and resolve operational issues (e.g., batch failures, network issues, client data feed errors).
- Monitor server performance, memory utilization, CPU, file systems, databases, batch jobs, backup/restore concepts, and best practices.
- Develop strong skills in Microsoft SQL performance tuning and query optimization, using SQL Profiler, Execution Plan, extended events, Performance Monitor, and DBCC commands.
- Cultivate extensive experience in SQL server high-availability solutions, including Log Shipping, Mirroring, Replication, Clustering, and Always ON.
- Create, review, test, and execute T-SQL and PowerShell scripts for database administrative tasks.
- Investigate performance issues, provide tuning solutions, and act as part of a global team.
- Work with monitoring tools and participate in on-call rotations and out-of-hours support when necessary.
- 7+ years of experience as a DBA managing multiple DB engines.
