The Role

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our team in Mumbai, India. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing cloud solutions to drive growth for Colgate-Palmolive. You will collaborate with business teams, functional teams, and IT counterparts to formulate and implement a comprehensive cloud strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop cloud solutions to meet business requirements
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure cloud solutions are secure, scalable, and cost-effective
  • Develop and maintain a balanced cloud governance framework based on industry standards
  • Evaluate and implement emerging cloud services and technologies
  • Drive cloud adoption and innovation by exploring new cloud services and finding opportunities to demonstrate them for business growth
  • Collaborate with teams on new and existing business/technology solutions to ensure they align with established standards and contribute to long-term cloud strategy
  • Perform regular cloud cost reviews and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce waste
  • Mentor and support teams in understanding cloud technologies, standard methodologies, and operational processes
  • Stay informed of industry-wide trends and their potential impact or application to the business
Requirements
  • At least 4-6 years of experience in Cloud Engineering
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
  • Superior organization, project management skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing capabilities and limitations, business drivers, virtualization technologies, infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, and software as a service cloud delivery models
  • A strong ability to learn new technologies
  • Thorough understanding of system and infrastructure management in the cloud environment
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and services, such as GCP, AWS, and Terraform
  • Proficiency in configuring and handling virtual networks, including VPC, subnets, and firewall rules
  • Experience handling infrastructure deployments using infrastructure as code tools
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, and Terraform
  • Command of software automation production systems, such as GitHub and Selenium
  • Good understanding of security principles and standard methodologies, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Information Technology or Engineering
  • Google Cloud Architect or AWS Certified Solution Architect - Professional certification
  • Experience in architecting, implementing, and handling multi-cloud environments
  • Understanding of infrastructure correlations with knowledge of servers, networking, AD, security, etc.
  • Proficiency in handling and optimizing cloud costs using tools like Google Cloud's Cost Management tools or AWS Cost Explorer
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes
  • Understanding of or ability to design solutions across on-premise and multiple public cloud tiers (hybrid)
