Senior Java Reporting Engineer

As a Java Reporting Engineer, you will work across development, client implementation, and support teams to develop and maintain our enterprise portfolio management and investment accounting platform. Our platform supports clients in the buy-side institutional investment plans, asset managers, wealth managers, portfolio managers, and accounting professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuously improve the framework and implementation process for the Jaspersoft reporting environment.
  • Perform web application server administration and configuration tasks.
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.
  • Design and develop business intelligence applications to meet the needs of our clients.
  • Collaborate with the development team to construct integrated solutions that meet the requirements of our clients.
  • Develop and execute unit software test cases and work with product quality assurance to resolve bugs and clarify functionality.
  • Assist the DBA with maintaining the platform's MySQL databases and optimize database queries for better performance.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of Java programming experience.
  • 3+ years of supporting and trouble-shooting Java application experience.
  • 3+ years' experience designing and developing business intelligence applications.
  • Strong SQL and XML experience.
  • Strong report layout and report generation skills.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and communicate business requirements.
  • Experience with TIBCO JasperSoft, Tableau, or another reporting tool is a plus.
  • Experience with web application server administration and configuration is a plus.
  • Experience with RESTful Web Services is a plus.
  • Experience configuring Apache/Tomcat environments and a strong understanding of them is a plus.
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies (especially AWS) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 2+ years in commercial software development.
  • Practical experience in the financial investment industry with a high degree of proficiency developing software applications using these skills.
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills, sense of humor, and exceptional character.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget, with a demonstrated focus on client satisfaction.
  • Proven track record for developing, releasing, and supporting multiple high-quality products.
  • Professional experience developing performant, scalable, complex systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
