Job Title

A Data Engineer is required to design, develop and maintain data driven products and services for our product suite. We are working with regulators, major pharmaceutical companies and academia to develop the next generation of analytical solutions used to improve drug, vaccine and device safety monitoring and public health surveillance.

This role will involve contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle, designing and architecting future-state solutions, and assisting in process and performance optimization for data access. Additionally, you will be responsible for database tuning and optimisation, helping guide and mentor less experienced software developers, and supporting and resolving base product defects and incidents client testing and production environments.

Requirements
  • Extensive professional data product development experience, including design, development, documentation, and maintenance across the full software development lifecycle
  • Experience in designing and implementing data products
  • Experience creating secure data solutions including avoidance and mitigation patterns for relevant current and previous OWASP top-10
  • Demonstrable experience in data modelling and tuning SQL query performance
  • Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and efficient data design and access (ORM, JDBC, DAO, SQL)
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Life Sciences and / or Pharmacovigilance related data sets and standards, e.g. E2B R2 / R3, MedDRA, IDMP
  • Developing Healthcare or Life Sciences data products for regulated environments
  • Developing using AWS, and associated proprietary AWS services, e.g. S3, RDS, DMS
