Job OverviewAs a Data Scientist on our India development team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our space data analytics product, Orbitfy. Your primary objective will be to explore innovative applications for our technology, working closely with the CTO to strategize our product and company roadmap for the next 3-4 years.
Key Responsibilities- Enhance Productivity: Proactively leverage modern AI tools across the data science lifecycle to boost efficiency and effectiveness.
- Computer Vision & ML: Design and implement state-of-the-art models for satellite imagery, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Model Deployment: Train and fine-tune deep learning models for edge deployment, balancing performance with power and computational constraints.
- MLOps & Orchestration: Provide best practices for MLOps, workflow orchestration, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Collaboration & Innovation: Foster close relationships with GIS engineers, software teams, and product managers to integrate ML solutions into our pipeline.
- Research & Development: Stay at the forefront of emerging trends in Edge AI, ML, and remote sensing, translating them into practical solutions for space applications.
- Data Handling: Process large, complex datasets from diverse sensors, designing robust preprocessing, augmentation, and feature extraction workflows.
- Communication & Reporting: Articulate technical concepts, results, and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a distributed environment.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure robustness, reliability, and reproducibility of solutions through systematic testing, benchmarking, and validation.
- Timely delivery of LPL's machine learning modules for satellite missions or user trials.
- Successful deployment of LPL's products for multiple satellite missions.
- Accelerated project outcomes through the adoption of AI tools.
- Effective collaboration and communication across distributed teams.
- Contributions that shape the product roadmap and strengthen our position in edge-based space intelligence.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–8 years in data science, with demonstrated hands-on experience in computer vision, image processing, or machine learning.
