Community Manager Job Description

The Community Manager is responsible for building a community environment that fosters collaboration and growth.

  • Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Create a positive and welcoming atmosphere within the center, encouraging members to engage with one another and build meaningful relationships.
  • Plan and execute events that promote socialization and networking opportunities among members.
  • Work closely with local businesses to develop mutually beneficial partnerships and collaborations.
  • Conduct regular member satisfaction surveys to gauge the effectiveness of community programs and make necessary improvements.
  • Ensure the front desk is always staffed by a community team member, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Conceptualize and implement community initiatives that drive engagement and foster a sense of belonging among members.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new members, introducing them to the existing community and helping them feel welcomed.
  • Manage billing and check-in/check-out processes for hourly or day-pass members, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide tours of the center to potential new members, highlighting its amenities and services.
  • Respond promptly to member needs and resolve any issues that may arise, ensuring their concerns are heard and addressed.
  • Maintain accurate records of membership waiting lists and ensure all members have enrolled on the Cowrks App.
  • Proactively gather data on members' business objectives and identify services that could help them achieve their goals.
  • Supervise in-building events to ensure compliance with house rules and address any issues that may arise.

Operations Overview:

  • Collaborate with operations teams to maintain the cleanliness and efficiency of the center's spaces, buildings, IT infrastructure, and back-of-house areas.
  • Assist the Community Manager in developing policies related to guest registration, security, and building procedures.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the Community Manager, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with facilities and IT support teams to resolve member issues related to printers, telephones, and other equipment.
  • Conceptualize and implement initiatives that promote Cowrks and enhance the overall member experience.
  • Coordinate with marketing and technology teams to ensure effective communication and event planning.
  • Implement new initiatives, policies, and processes to improve operational efficiency and strengthen CoWrks communities, aiming for a service rating of >95%.
  • Inspect the center's amenities and services daily, identifying areas for maintenance and addressing them promptly.
  • Prepare expense reports for review by the Community Development Council on a monthly basis.
  • Submit procurement requirements to relevant teams in a timely manner.

Sales & Marketing:

  • Optimize desk vacancies by ensuring operational efficiency through enhanced member experience.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure required visibility for the location.
  • Manage lead generation and conversion for CoWrks community members, aligning with the Sales Process.
  • Focus on driving auxiliary revenue streams through meeting rooms, day passes, virtual offices, and event spaces.
  • Conduct walkthroughs and coordinate with sales teams to identify opportunities and address member needs.
  • Conduct research on potential members and develop tailored marketing strategies and materials based on the findings.
  • Operate within established frameworks and embody CoWrks values and ethos.
  • Promote members' offerings across Cowrks, including digital media services, print materials, and the Connect app.
