Senior AWS Redshift Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AWS Redshift Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with database platforms, including AWS Redshift, AWS RDS, MySQL, and Snowflake.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain scalable AWS cloud environments and applications for data organization.
  • Install and maintain software, services, and applications by identifying system requirements.
  • Maintain environment by identifying system requirements, installing upgrades and monitoring system performance.
  • Perform day-to-day database operations, deployments, and development tasks.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve system performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and deploy database solutions.
  • Troubleshoot system hardware, software, and operating systems.
  • Manage incident and change management processes.
  • Deploy code changes and manage release management.
  • Provide on-call support during non-business hours.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering.
  • Experience:
  • 6 years of experience in system, platform, and AWS cloud administration.
  • 4 years of database administration using latest AWS technologies – AWS Redshift, RDS, S3, EC2, NLB, VPC, etc.
  • 2 years of Snowflake administration experience.
  • Skills:
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases.
  • Knowledge of query authoring (SQL) and query performance tuning.
  • Experience supporting and optimizing data pipelines and datasets.
  • Understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite and security architecture.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
