Senior Analytics Engineer Job Description

The Role:

This Senior Analytics Engineer will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality integrated data assets that support analytical models and visualizations, driving personalization opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and transform large datasets into well-built integrated data assets using SQL, AWS Glue or other emerging technologies.
  • Recommend, build, and monitor robust and extensible data models capturing business performance from a customer experience lens.
  • Identify and execute data quality testing along critical checkpoints, surfacing data drift or anomalies.
  • Maintain accuracy of data, building automated processes to catch issues proactively and report.
  • Be the expert in critical customer experience data assets, maintaining a catalog for reference.
  • Develop visualizations in Tableau, supporting data science teams with exploratory data analysis and KPI development.
  • Validate and performance-tune complex SQL queries.
  • Train team members on SQL, AWS, and Tableau best practices.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or engineering.
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in data-driven solutions.
  • Expertise in writing advanced/complex SQL queries, strong experience in Python (NumPy & Pandas), and EDA/data processing/data infra tools like AWS Glue, S3, or Redshift.
  • Proficiency with Tableau or Power BI for advanced visualization.

Preferred Qualifications:

A competitive edge can be gained by:

  • Understanding Gen AI.
  • Working knowledge of statistical/machine learning tools (e.g., scikit-learn).
  • Prior experience with similar airline or hospitality data.
  • Self-motivation and pride in building great products for key stakeholders.
