Key Role Summary

A Network Engineer is responsible for providing second-level technical support and service requests. They will analyze and design networks, provide technology support and client assistance.

Required Skills:

  • Technical knowledge of WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, wireless and security systems
  • Ability to implement and support remote access solutions, including IPSEC VPN
  • Understanding of DNS/DHCP protocols
  • Collaboration with vendors to resolve customer issues
  • Experience with command line interfaces to manage computer equipment
  • IT Support skills related to Microsoft's core business applications and operating systems
  • Timely response and resolution of alerts and tickets generated from monitoring systems and/or customer requests
  • Maintaining accurate records of performed tasks in service tickets
  • Maintaining system configuration information within the ticketing system
  • Effective communication with customers regarding ticket progress, changes or agreed outages
  • Escalation of service requests requiring engineer level support in a timely fashion
  • Participation in implementing and improving best practices
  • Utilization of central management tools to resolve customer issues with minimal impact
  • Customer onboarding and documentation in our systems

Responsibilities:

  • Perform fast turnaround of customer requests
  • Network administrative duties on-site weekly
  • Communication with customers regarding issues and potential problems
  • Reporting to management potential problems with customer computers, configurations and/or environment
