About This Role

BuildAmbit is an upcoming Edtech & Upskilling platform focused on transforming the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry with tech-first learning solutions.

This is a part-time, high-impact role ideal for senior technology leaders who want to contribute to an early-stage startup on a flexible basis. The Fractional CTO will work closely with the founding team to provide strategic technology leadership, ensure robust architecture decisions, and oversee execution with lean resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and drive the tech roadmap for BuildAmbit's 0–1 journey.
  • Oversee the design and development of the Learning Management System (LMS) platform and integrations.
  • Ensure scalable, secure, and compliant architecture aligned with Edtech needs.
  • Evaluate and onboard the right technology stack, tools, and vendors.
  • Build and mentor an initial tech/product team.
  • Advise on AI/ML, personalization, and data-driven features for learner experience.
  • Align technology strategy with business goals, funding milestones, and scalability.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling digital platforms (preferably in Edtech, SaaS, or consumer tech).
  • Hands-on expertise in product architecture, cloud infrastructure, and security.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms, APIs, and integrations is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fractional / part-time capacity, balancing strategy and hands-on execution.
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills.
