Job Title: Production Manager

Perform Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to join our client, a leading beef processing company in Europe. Our client is renowned for delivering premium beef to niche high-end markets, and we are looking for a talented individual to lead their production team and drive operational success.

Job Summary:

The Production Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and control of the production process, ensuring that all operations meet efficiency targets, GMP safety and quality standards, and budgetary requirements. This role is crucial for maintaining the high standards that our client's customers expect.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet Production Targets: Ensure production targets are met or exceeded while optimizing resource use.
  • Scheduling: Develop, monitor, and adjust production schedules to align with business needs.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate production teams, manage their training needs, and support career progression.
  • Equipment & Layout: Participate in the selection, design, and layout of equipment to enhance production efficiency.
  • Waste Management: Maintain waste within agreed limits and ensure compliance with all safety and quality regulations.
  • Health & Safety: Enforce all Health & Safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE, and ensure adherence to GMP standards and company procedures.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high product quality standards, ensuring compliance with all legal and safety criteria.
  • Cross-Departmental Coordination: Liaise with Management, Contractors, QCMaintenance, Accounts, Human Resources, and Production personnel to ensure smooth operations.
  • Technology Use: Utilize IT systems for data management and analysis, ensuring accurate and efficient reporting.
Requirements:
  • Education: Relevant third-level qualification.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Production Manager in the Agri-Food sector, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in beef processing.
  • Technical & Operational Skills: Strong operational knowledge, proficiency in IT and administrative tasks, and the ability to adapt to new technologies.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, problemsolving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Judgment & Diplomacy: Ability to exercise sound judgment and diplomacy in handling complex situations.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
