Manual Tester Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Manual Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in functional and regression testing across various applications, working closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Developers.

  • This role is responsible for performing manual functional testing of web and mobile applications.
  • The Manual Tester will execute and maintain test cases, test plans, and test scenarios based on requirements.
  • They will validate bug fixes, track issues in the bug tracking system, and ensure they are resolved.
  • Regression testing is also a key responsibility to ensure existing functionality remains stable.
  • Collaboration with developers and product owners is essential to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • A clear and concise defect report must be submitted including steps to reproduce and an impact analysis.
  • The Manual Tester will participate in sprint ceremonies to align testing with delivery timelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2-4 years of experience in manual QA testing for SaaS or enterprise platforms.
  • A strong understanding of functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
  • Hands-on experience with bug tracking tools (Jira, Trello, or similar).
  • The ability to write clear and structured test cases.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
Performance Metrics

Your performance will be measured by:

  • Defect Detection Rate: 95% of critical issues identified before release.
  • Defect Leakage: 5% of high-severity issues reported post-release.
  • Test Coverage: 90% of functional requirements validated per sprint.
  • Bug Closure Rate: 90% of reported bugs resolved within committed sprint.
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in testing AMS, LMS, e-commerce, or membership platforms is beneficial. Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman is also desirable. Understanding of accessibility and performance testing basics is a plus.
