The Financial Operations Specialist will oversee the organization's financial operations, ensuring fiscal discipline, transparency, and alignment of financial planning with programmatic outcomes.
This role is critical in managing grants, coordinating audits, and enabling data-driven financial decisions across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately record and report financial transactions, book expenses against specific grants.
- Mentor and supervise outsourced accounting activities.
- Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with leadership and initiative heads.
Financial Reporting & MIS:
- Prepare and present monthly reports for management including initiative-wise expenditure, grant-wise utilisation, function-based cost allocation, trend analysis, cash flow projections, variance analysis, and burn rate tracking.
- Enable data-driven decision-making with timely insights and variance analysis.
Grants & Donor Reporting:
- Coordinate with initiative leaders to submit timely and accurate financial reports to donors/funders.
- Monitor grant conditions and ensure compliance with donor financial requirements.
Compliance & Audits:
- Ensure adherence to statutory compliance including TDS, GST, FCRA, Income Tax, and other local compliances.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors for timely completion of audits and closure of audit findings.
Vendor & Contract Management:
- Manage all financial aspects of vendor relationships, including contracts, agreements, invoices, payments, TDS, and GST processing.
- Act as custodian of all financial records.
Qualifications include a CA or MBA (Finance) degree, 6+ years of relevant experience, experience in NGO or social sector finance, strong command of Indian Accounting Standards, proficiency in ERP systems like Tally, Zoho Books, Excel, and MIS reporting tools.
