Hardware Design Engineer Role

Tonbo Imaging is seeking a skilled Hardware Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Hardware Design Team, you will be responsible for the design and development of new products as well as the support and modification of existing products.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop new products, including conceptual design, parts selection, design simulation, detailed design, and schematic capture.
  • Support and modify existing products, including troubleshooting and debugging.
  • Coordinate with layout teams to ensure correct guidelines are followed.
  • Manage prototype builds with contract manufacturers.
  • Review and execute test protocols, and document results.
  • Support boards and systems during environmental testing and entry into production.
  • Be an integral part of the Hardware Design Team, driving new ideas and providing feedback for improvement of existing products.
  • Interact with other departments (Software, Mechanical, etc.) as part of daily board design practices and to support and maintain inter-departmental communications.
  • Support board layout, as well as board and system level bring-up, debug, and verification.
  • Participate in customer support activities, including site visits, demos, training, installation, and solving customer field issues.

Requirements:

  • Good knowledge in Electronics hardware.
  • Knowledge of Cadence sch capture and PCB design tools.
  • Good knowledge of Circuit Theory and Electronic Devices.
  • Should have good hardware design and development knowledge (requirements definition, design, reviews, testing, etc.).
  • Design knowledge in Analog and Digital Circuits.
  • Digital design experience including micro-controllers, SPI, I2C, RS232, RS422, Ethernet, etc.
  • Analog design experience including active passive filters, amplifiers is helpful.
  • Capable of conceptual design, parts selection, design simulation, detailed design, schematic capture, and PCB design rules creation.
  • Should be able to troubleshoot embedded boards/systems.
  • Capable of writing supporting documentation to coordinate and establish layout practices and test procedures for the current design.
  • Hands-on experience on using Lap tools like multimeter, Digital oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, power supply, etc.
  • Design knowledge in analog and digital video interfacing will be a plus point.
  • Design knowledge on EMI/EMC will be a plus point.
  • Good to have knowledge in C programming.
  • Good written & verbal communication skills.
