Financial Services Engineer

We're building a full Engineering team in India to accelerate our success here. This team will collaborate closely with our engineering teams in the United States, Nigeria, and Kenya to strengthen our existing product capabilities and develop new product lines.

You'll work closely with our Product and Data Science teams to design, maintain, and scale multiple technologies, including API backends, credit scoring systems, payments integrations, and operations tools.

1. Develop APIs and backend systems for our frontend clients, including our Android mobile app.
2. Integrate with various third-party systems, such as payment systems, identity providers, and messaging platforms.
3. Contribute to building new financial products.
4. Scale our backend services to handle increasing traffic and complexity.

1. A minimum of 3-8 years' experience in building backend software for web-based or mobile products.
2. Experience leveraging modern AI tools for efficiency and effectiveness.
3. Strong knowledge of software development fundamentals, including computer science principles, distributed systems, data storage, and agile methodologies.
4. The ability to combine technical expertise with product understanding to find the best solutions for complex problems.
5. Highly entrepreneurial mindset, taking ownership of impact and proactively solving problems before they arise.
6. Excellent collaboration and communication skills, recognizing that startups are a team effort.
7. Familiarity with designing, building, and maintaining scalable data architectures that integrate disparate data sources.
8. A strong command of data modeling and organization best practices.
9. Hands-on experience with toolsets like dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Metabase, etc.
10. Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python.
