Business Development Head Job Description

About the Role
The Business Development Head will be responsible for leading and managing a team of sales representatives focused on Upwork. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of achieving sales targets and generating significant revenue through Upwork and similar platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the sales team to maximize performance and achieve revenue goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong profiles on Upwork to attract potential clients.
  • Strategize and execute initiatives to convert bids into leads and maintain a minimum conversion rate of 70%.
  • Directly engage with high-value clients through presales calls to understand their requirements and propose tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to create compelling sales collateral and presentations tailored for Upwork clients.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments related to Upwork and freelancing platforms.
  • Analyze sales data from Upwork, track performance metrics, and prepare regular reports to assess progress towards revenue goals.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in sales management with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and generating significant revenue through Upwork and similar platforms.
  • Extensive experience with Upwork, including profile optimization, bidding, proposal writing, and client management.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team.
