Ruby on Rails Software Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Ruby on Rails developer to join our team. As a seasoned professional, you will be instrumental in identifying and resolving critical performance and stability challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and fix performance bottlenecks, application instability issues, and scalability challenges by analyzing system logs and code.
  • Provide technical solutions to combat bot attacks and other security threats through secure coding practices.
  • Collaborate with teams to optimize critical workflows that impact system performance, focusing on efficiency and reliability.
  • Lead efforts to enhance infrastructure monitoring and alerting, utilizing tools like Datadog for real-time insights.
  • Design and maintain robust Ruby on Rails microservices and APIs, prioritizing scalability and fault tolerance.
  • Implement auto-restart scripts and failover processes to ensure system resilience and minimize downtime.
  • Enforce code quality through diligent code reviews, testing, and promoting development best practices, including Agile methodologies.
  • Guide and mentor junior developers, sharing knowledge to strengthen the team and drive innovation.
  • Assist in new feature development while also resolving production issues, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • 10+ years of professional experience in Ruby on Rails development, with expertise in Sinatra.
  • Strong knowledge of Ruby on Rails, including its frameworks and libraries.
  • Proven experience working with microservices-based architectures, utilizing Kafka, ZooKeeper, or similar messaging platforms.
  • Familiarity with SOLR for search functionality and AWS services (SQS, hosting, cloud computing).
  • Hands-on experience with security practices, including bot mitigation using Cloudflare or similar tools.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure monitoring tools, preferably Datadog.
  • Strong debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills, with experience in agile development environments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with prior experience in healthcare technology platforms an advantage.
