Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backup Engineer to join our team in managing backup solutions for regular data backups in data center environments.

As a Senior Backup Engineer, you will be responsible for the following key tasks:

• Configuring and managing backup solutions to ensure seamless data protection and recovery processes.

• Troubleshooting issues related to backup jobs and tape libraries to minimize downtime and maintain data integrity.

• Testing backup and recovery processes to ensure that all critical systems and data are recoverable in case of an emergency.

• Maintaining detailed documentation of backup procedures and recovery plans to ensure that all team members are aware of their roles and responsibilities.

• Collaborating with IT teams on data protection initiatives to ensure that all systems and data are properly protected.

• Monitoring backup systems for performance and capacity to ensure that they are running optimally.

• Implementing security protocols for data backups to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in backup engineering within data centers.
  • Strong knowledge of backup tools such as Veritas, Veeam, Commvault, and Networker.
  • Experience with tape libraries and data deduplication.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
