Financial Operations Manager

This is a key role within the organization responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial reporting.

Accountabilities:
  • Preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements and other accounting records in accordance with relevant accounting standards, rules, and regulations.
  • Support in identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial risks and report on these financial risks to senior colleagues.
  • Development and maintenance of a robust system of internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure no fraudulent misreporting, and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
Responsibilities:
  • Development and implementation of up-to-date financial policies and procedures to ensure consistent and effective financial practices across the organization.
  • Management of the selection, implementation, and maintenance of financial systems and software applications, including collaboration with IT colleagues to integrate financial systems with other enterprise systems.
  • Preparation and submission of statutory and regulatory reports to authorities and provision of support to other departments in their preparation and review of regulatory reports.
  • Coordination with external auditors and regulatory authorities in support of audits and examinations.
Requirements:
  • Consult on complex issues, providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organization sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work for business-aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources, such as procedures and practices in other areas, teams, companies, etc. to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information, including sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
