Biotechnology Process Specialist

Job Overview:
Evaluate customer requirements for feasibility and profitability across all project phases, encompassing upstream and downstream processing. Develop innovative process and system solutions to meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate customer requirements for feasibility and profitability in all project phases.
- Develop and implement process and system solutions in the field of biotechnology.
- Provide technical expertise to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with customers and sales teams to create customized cost quotations, meeting their specific needs.
- Select equipment for fermentation, bioreactors, TFF, filing lines, and other critical processes, considering safety and regulatory compliance.
- Review all aspects of design and construction for consistency and safety, including leading HAZOP and PHA reviews.
- Analyze costs and conduct profitability checks on projects to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Design and develop PIDs, PFDs, and other essential documents during engineering project phases.
- Support and advise on Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), ensuring successful project outcomes.
- Act as a central point of contact in international projects, fostering effective communication and collaboration with multicultural teams.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Design Engineers to drive project success.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biotechnology Engineering or related fields.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Process Engineering within the biotechnology industry, preferably in bioreactors, fermenters, crossflow systems, and chromatography.
- Understanding of downstream and upstream processes is beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and willingness to travel nationally and internationally (approximately 10%).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Team player with a collaborative mindset, embracing diverse perspectives and ideas.
