Water Treatment Plant Incharge – Chemist

Job Description:

The DM water treatment plant incharge is accountable for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and quality assurance of the demineralisation (DM) water treatment plant.

Key Responsibilities include operating and supervising the entire DM water treatment process, ensuring a consistent and reliable supply of DM water with required quality parameters for high-pressure boilers and turbines, conducting regular chemical analysis of raw water, DM water, condensate, and feedwater to maintain steam purity and avoid boiler/turbine scaling and corrosion.

This role requires expertise in DM water production and boiler feedwater treatment, a strong understanding of steam-water cycle chemistry in thermal/biomass power plants, and leadership skills.

Required Skills:
  • Operate and supervise DM water treatment processes including RO, EDI, Softener, Degasser Tower, and Mixed Bed units.
  • Maintain DM water quality parameters including conductivity, silica, pH, total hardness, etc.
  • Conduct regular chemical analysis of raw water, DM water, condensate, and feedwater to ensure steam purity and prevent boiler/turbine scaling and corrosion.
