Senior Data Testing Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Senior Data Testing Specialist to drive the testing strategy and execution for a project leveraging Databricks, Data Factory pipelines and Power BI.

This role requires expertise in testing data pipelines using Python, SQL, etc. along with experience in JIRA test management. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with X-Ray for JIRA test management, GitHub/Bitbucket for version control, and Jenkins for CI/CD automation.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. They will also have experience in Agile methodologies, Scrum/Kanban, and DevOps integration.

In this role, you will work on testing ETL workflows (Databricks, Data Factory workflows), SQL Data Warehouse, BI reports and dashboards. You will use your expertise in BDD (Cucumber, SpecFlow, or similar frameworks) and experience with performance testing of BI reports and data warehouses.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic team. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality results and contributing to the growth and success of the company.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field is required. 5+ years of experience in data pipeline/ETL testing, with at least 2+ years as a Test Lead is also required.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test strategies for data pipelines and ETL workflows
  • Test and validate data quality, accuracy and integrity
  • Identify and report defects and areas for improvement
  • Maintain test scripts and documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth delivery
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in data pipeline/ETL testing, with at least 2+ years as a Test Lead
  • Expertise in testing data pipelines using Python, SQL, etc.
  • Experience in JIRA test management, X-Ray for JIRA test management, GitHub/Bitbucket for version control, and Jenkins for CI/CD automation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience in Agile methodologies, Scrum/Kanban, and DevOps integration
  • Hands-on experience with BDD (Cucumber, SpecFlow, or similar frameworks)
  • Experience with performance testing of BI reports and data warehouses
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms supporting Databricks, Data Factory and SQL
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python for test automation in data pipelines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Robot Framework, Selenium
