We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Extended Term Consultant. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounts receivable, providing technical guidance on accounting issues, and collaborating with colleagues and clients to resolve day-to-day accounting and reporting issues.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage staff receivables and loans disbursed to all World Bank group staff members at Headquarters and Country Offices.
  2. Provide technical guidance on accounting issues related to the PeopleSoft Staff Receivables System.
  3. Assist and coordinate with ITS in researching, analyzing, and resolving accounting issues in various applications.
  4. Generate, collate, compile, and submit reports related to staff loan and receivable accounts as may be required.
  5. Ensure timely release of transactions to the Payroll system and SRS accounting.
  6. Review key SRS and Payroll reports and take appropriate action before payroll close.
  7. Work closely with Payroll, HR, and Country Office staff to resolve collection issues.
  8. Ensure the correctness of accounting for External and Inter-Company Receivables and follow up with clients for collection.
  9. Review open items in suspense accounts and aging schedules for both staff and external receivables and ensure that amounts due to the Bank are collected promptly.
  10. Analyze monthly external revenues and respond to pertinent queries.
  11. Review monthly Trial Balance for Accounts Receivable and ensure timely submission.
  12. Review monthly Admin Trial Balance for Accounts Receivable team and ensure timely submission.
  13. Review various reports associated with the monthly Trial Balance reporting.
  14. Identify and provide inputs to process improvement initiatives.
  15. Review invoices for IMF Paris rent and IFC Payroll before sending it to the clients.
  16. Review various revenue postings and ensure those are as per the contract agreements and established policies and procedures.
  17. Monitor and record the revenue accruals in SAP on a periodical basis.
  18. Review accrual and deferral requests during the year-end and coordinating with WFACR and various units for posting the entries.
  19. Create process documentation and update desktop procedures in Accounts Receivable team.
  20. Respond to tier-2 client inquiries effectively and resolve problems or provide alternative solutions.
  21. Collaborate with colleagues, clients, and counterparts to resolve day-to-day accounting and reporting issues.
  22. Act as a mentor to all accounting assistants and help them to understand the various processes that are performed in PS-SRS and SAP.
  23. Assist in handling special projects as and when required.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Commerce or a professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in the functional area, preferably with background in financial services industry and familiarity with banking transactions.
  • Multinational organization experience would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office tools, experience in PeopleSoft systems will be an added advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of WBG core functional systems and processes, sound knowledge of data and analytical tools like MS-Excel, PowerBI, Tableau.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business process requirements and translate them into design specifications for process changes and automated solutions.
