PCB Design Engineer

The role involves working on the design of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) for electric vehicles.

  • Design PCB footprint library and schematic symbols using IPC standards to ensure efficiency in production.
  • Create independent PCB layout from scratch, including constraint settings, component placement, routing, panelization, and Gerber package release.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and supplier teams to achieve optimized PCB design.
  • Implement Design For Manufacturability (DFM), Design For Assembly (DFA), and Design For Testability (DFT) principles into PCB design.
  • Address board level Electromagnetic Interference/ Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMI/EMC) and Signal Integrity (SI) considerations in PCB design.
  • Resolve queries from PCB suppliers in a timely manner to ensure supply chain continuity.
  • Participate in PCB layout reviews, component library reviews, and DFM reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Ideal Candidate
  • 8-12 years of experience as a PCB Design Engineer, preferably in the electric vehicle or 2-wheeler industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience in high-speed design, RF, high-voltage, high-current design, metal-clad PCB, flex PCB designs.
  • Solid understanding of layer stackup design to minimize manufacturing complexity.
  • Proficiency in PCB tools like Altium Designer and Cadence Allegro to streamline design processes.
  • Experience with DFM tools like CAM350 or Valor to optimize design for manufacturing.
  • Strong collaborative problem-solving skills to resolve complex design issues.
  • Effective communication skills to handle/lead projects independently and drive results-oriented solutions.
