We are seeking a talented Environmental Modeller to join our team.

As an experienced professional in the field of environmental modelling, you will play a key role in developing and implementing cutting-edge models that help us better understand and predict complex ecosystem interactions.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining advanced environmental models using Python programming language
  • Collaborating with our Principal Soil Modeller to translate scientific requirements into robust technical solutions
  • Working independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team to integrate different model components
  • Designing and implementing automated testing frameworks to validate and improve model performance
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have:

  • Advanced programming skills in Python, including proficiency with scientific libraries (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, GeoPandas) and Bayesian statistical libraries (PyMC or similar)
  • Proven experience developing and working with ecosystem models or related areas
  • Extensive experience with machine learning techniques and their application to environmental data, including model validation and statistical analysis
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with extreme attention to detail and a rigorous approach to model development
  • Master's degree or PhD in Data Science, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or related field with a strong focus on modelling and programming
