Job Description

The organization seeks a highly skilled backend engineer to drive the migration of core functionality from a legacy system to a modern, cloud-native architecture.

This critical role will focus on transforming key integrations with our platform by re-implementing them as resilient, scalable Java services using Spring Boot microservices.

You will be instrumental in modernizing our event-handling stack, replacing a central message broker with a distributed system built on Google Cloud Platform.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop: Architect and build high-performance, scalable Java Spring Boot microservices.
  • LCOG Migration: Analyze existing code that integrates with our loan servicing platform, understand its business logic, and lead its migration to the new Java stack.
  • Event-Driven Architecture: Decommission our legacy message broker and implement a modern event-driven system using cloud-native technologies like Google Cloud Pub/Sub.
  • Cloud-Native Solutions: Build and deploy services using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies, including Cloud Functions, Spanner, and Firestore.
  • Code Quality and Deployment: Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. Own the entire development lifecycle, demonstrating confidence in taking features to production through a robust CI/CD pipeline.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in backend software development, with a strong emphasis on enterprise-level systems.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework.
  • Professional experience with .NET (C#), with a demonstrated ability to read, understand, and reverse-engineer legacy codebases.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically with services like Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Spanner, and/or Firestore.
