About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Big Data Engineer to join our team at Nisum. As a Big Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data processing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze complex business requirements and generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications.
- Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation, and analysis efforts.
- Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement, and support a solution while ensuring security, compliance, and quality requirements are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
- Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and secure data processing systems.
- Work with data engineers to design and implement data pipelines and architectures.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in big data and analytics.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of proven professional experience in big data engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Hadoop, Python, HBase, Hive, Sqoop, and other big data technologies.
- Strong understanding of database architectures, including RDBMS and No-SQL.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Good understanding of Unix/Linux systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Financial industry experience.
- Experience with Airflow and DAG creation.
- Knowledge of AWS services, including Lambda, EC2, ECS, EMR, Athena, and S3.
- Experience with Git and Bitbucket.
- Good understanding of Core Java programming.
