Job Description

The role of a Senior Interior Design Leader involves overseeing the revenue of a region and managing critical growth and performance metrics for both the business and people. This includes taking ownership of strategic initiatives such as product launches, process improvements, category expansion, and vendor management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Governance & Compliance:
    • Ensure adherence to established frameworks across teams including design, execution, vendors, and experience functions.
    • Conduct routine governance checks to ensure compliance with processes.
    • Identify and close operational control gaps impacting service quality, timelines, or costs.
  • Risk Management:
    • Monitor and resolve governance risks including financial, operational, or service quality issues.
    • Proactively address non-compliance or deviations related to stakeholders.
  • Audit Readiness & Documentation:
    • Maintain all project, partner, and compliance documentation in audit-ready format.
    • Lead internal audits across verticals and ensure timely closure of findings.
    • Track and update governance metrics through structured dashboards and trackers.
  • Stakeholder & Partner Coordination:
    • Liaise with teams to reinforce a governance-first mindset.
    • Work directly with partners to ensure clarity on compliance expectations and accountability.
  • Reporting & Escalation Management:
    • Prepare compliance reports and governance scorecards for business reviews.
    • Escalate recurring non-compliances or systemic issues to the regional governance lead.
    • Present RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and recommend preventive measures.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent degree Or comparable degree in Design or Business Administration. MBA would be an added advantage.
  • Typically spent at least 6 to 7 years in an interior fit-out business, operating role managing a revenue generating team(s) or selling design products/services through a team of designers.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to convey business requirements and needs in a clear, concise, and effective manner.
  • Structured thought process and strong analytical ability, determined to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills (direct team reporting in past roles a must)
  • Possesses significant personal and professional drive to continuously improve the standing of Design and Design experience.
  • Deep understanding of interior fit-out industry, processes, market trends etc.
  • Strong leadership: Hire, retain, motivate, and look after a diverse team of professionals.
  • Tracking and training: Training and actively coaching the team on the job. Track strong and weak performance and course correct. Reward appropriately.
  • Customer empathy: appreciate the nature of the customer problem and be a trustworthy, knowledgeable partner.
  • Be a leader in the representative region. Be hungry, humble and lean.
