Job DescriptionThis role involves operating and maintaining CCTV infrastructure, including cameras, recorders, and monitors. You will be responsible for viewing and monitoring all cameras throughout working hours, ensuring all cameras are in working condition and recorded to NVR, deleting or archiving old footage as needed, organizing old footage in an orderly fashion, and switching out compact discs, memory cards, hard drives or servers.
You will also be required to maintain equipment, reporting and coordinating with vendors if there are any issues with cameras or NVRs. Properly storing footage is essential, as any amount of footage from any given day could be required at any given time. You will need to correctly catalog all footage so that it can be easily recalled at a later time.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Attention to Detail: Must be able to identify small, seemingly insignificant details that most people would overlook, allowing them to keep the area as safe as possible.
- Ability to Multitask: Must be able to receive phone calls or speak to colleagues while keeping an eye on the monitors.
- Ability to Work Independently: Will not be required to interact with many people, so must be able to work and stay alert without constant supervision.
- Communication Skills: Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to give statements to police officers, communicate with emergency services, or appear in court.
