Data Engineering Leader

Experience:

10-14 years

Summary:

As a Data Engineering Leader, you will lead a team of Senior Engineers and propose architecture for data warehouse design and development using AWS, Spark, Python, SQL, Databricks, and dbt.
  • Architect and implement workflow management systems using Airflow.
  • Design and develop cloud-native data-intensive applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Build and maintain Spark applications with hands-on experience.
  • Have fundamental understanding of Parquet, Delta Lake, and other OTFs file formats.

Responsibilities:

  • Propose and review architecture.
  • Solve complex situations and data models.
  • Lead a team of Senior Engineers.
  • Communicate with clients to gather requirements.
  • Identify risks and have mitigation strategies.
  • Develop high-quality features and deliver them to a high standard.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development and data structures/algorithms with a focus on backend and data engineering.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in using Python, JVM, and Shell Scripting with production experience.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in building cloud-native data-intensive applications, Amazon Web Service experience is a must.
  • Experience in Data Warehouse design and development per business nature using modern data warehouses.
  • Highly proficient in architecting and implementing workflow management systems using Airflow.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience in building and maintaining Spark applications.
  • Proficiency in an IaC tool like Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation.
