Backend Systems Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Backend Systems Engineer to design, build, and scale our core backend systems.

  • Develop scalable backend services and robust REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Optimize MySQL and PostgreSQL databases for performance, schema design, and query tuning.
  • Work with AWS SQS to create event-driven workflows ensuring system reliability and efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and enforce coding standards.
  • Take ownership of features from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

This role involves working on the core backend systems that power our applications. You will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling these systems to meet the needs of our users.

  • Design and implement scalable backend services and robust REST APIs using modern technology stacks.
  • Optimize database performance, schema design, and query tuning to ensure efficient data retrieval and storage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed system design.
  • Proven experience with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development.
  • Proficiency in SQL performance tuning and database optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to own and drive projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
