Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Distributed Middleware Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring driver use across a varied Java-based client community.

The role involves tracing, collecting, and maintaining inventory of inbound and outbound IP traffic to selected distributed/non-mainframe databases (DB2 on Linux, Sybase Greenplum).

In addition, the administrator will monitor inbound/outbound traffic for performance opportunities, such as load balancing and port sharing.

They will track and enforce security standards (TLS/SSL, Kerberos) for mainframe database access and refresh and update entitlements for mainframe database access on schedule.

The Distributed Middleware Administrator will also update and maintain driver software for mainframe database (ADABAS, DB2) access and implement database turnover requests for all APG groups and application for all environments.

Furthermore, they will perform verification for database maintenance upgrades of driver software and execute weekend verification involving the running of the IVP/RFB and weekend checkouts for infrastructure on and off mainframe.

Lastly, the administrator will prepare for, coordinate, write up, and communicate the summary of the weekend work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and optimize driver software for mainframe database access
  • Track and enforce security standards for mainframe database access
  • Monitor and analyze IP traffic to identify performance opportunities
  • Update and maintain entitlements for mainframe database access
  • Perform verification for database maintenance upgrades

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • At least 4+ years' experience in distributed middleware administration
  • Strong knowledge of IBM's Data Virtualization Manager (DVM)
  • Database expertise (DB2/UDB, Sybase, Greenplum, MySQL, SQL server)
  • Experience with IBMs JGATE middleware and USS environment
  • Familiarity with TLS/SSL, Encryption protocols, and Port Security administration
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
