PostgreSQL Database Administrator Wanted

We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL DBA to join our team on a long-term contract basis. As a remote worker, you will be responsible for managing our database infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to work with a cutting-edge technology stack and contribute to the growth of our organization. As a Freelance PostgreSQL Database Administrator, you will be working independently, but as part of a larger team, to ensure the smooth operation of our databases.

Responsibilities:

  • Database Administration: Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • SQL Performance Tuning: Optimize SQL queries and schema design to improve database performance.
  • Replication and Failover: Implement replication and failover solutions to ensure high availability.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure database security, compliance, integrity, and backup/recovery strategies.
  • Collaboration: Work with development teams to optimize SQL queries and improve database architecture.

Requirements:

  • DBA Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (installation, configuration, replication, backup/recovery, tuning).
  • Cloud SQL Expertise: Strong expertise with Cloud SQL (MySQL) and advanced SQL performance tuning.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Migration Experience: Experience migrating from SQL to PostgreSQL.
  • Monitoring Tools: Knowledge of database monitoring tools and observability solutions.
