About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Biopharmaceutics Team Lead to join our Pharmaceutical Development team at Syngene International Limited.

Job Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of scientists in developing preclinical and clinical formulations of new chemical entities (NCEs). This role requires strong scientific leadership skills, experience in pharmaceutical development, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
  • Provide scientific leadership within the Pharmaceutics domain to identify clinically developable drug candidates, including pre-formulation (physicochemical characterization, polymorphism) and formulation development.
  • Lead projects and guide the team on the development of different formulations, such as solution, suspension, tablet, and capsule, for pre-clinical studies, GLP toxicology studies, and Phase I and Phase II clinical studies.
  • Good understanding of drug degradation mechanisms and experimental analysis is preferred.
  • Competency in understanding and assessing biopharmaceutics risks towards potential solubility and absorption issues with NCEs, including the utilization of various in vitro, in silico, and in vivo tools.
  • Good understanding of novel drug delivery systems (NDDS) to improve oral bioavailability of challenging NCEs.
  • Fair understanding of analytical principles to characterize drug products.
  • Ability to investigate process-induced solid-state transformations while developing drug products using crystalline, salt, or amorphous solid dispersion forms of drug substances.
  • Knowledge of scientific principles and practices of other pharmaceutical development functional areas, such as Chemical Process Research, Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics, and Drug Safety Evaluation, is desired.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. (full-time) or Post-Doctorate in Pharmaceutics/Industrial Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Technology or related fields.
  • 9-17 years of relevant industrial experience.
  • Demonstrated ability of leading/managing a group of scientists for project accountabilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong interpersonal and team working skills.
  • Cross-functional/cross-site collaboration towards project deliverables.
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members for higher standards of deliverables.

Salary Range: ₹80,00,000 - ₹1,20,00,000 per annum, depending on experience.
