Academic Director

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic leader to lead our academic department at the Chitkara Design School.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement academic programs for Product design (industrial design) that align with the school's mission and vision.
• Supervise and support faculty members in their teaching practices, research projects, and professional development.
• Conduct regular evaluations of program curriculum to ensure it meets industry standards and stays relevant.
• Collaborate with other departments within the design school and beyond school to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities for students.
• Oversee student recruitment efforts, working closely with the career advancement service team.
• Plan effective resource allocation for department operations.
• Bring industry experts for various academes engagements like teaching, master class, conferences/symposiums, design festivals etc. Hence the candidate should have a strong industry network.
• Well-versed with UGC, NAAC and other processes and documentations.

Qualifications:

• Masters or Ph.D. degree in industrial design.
• Total 15+ years of experience with minimum of 5 years experience in an academic leadership role within a design school setting.
• Strong understanding of current trends and developments in the field of industrial design.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with faculty, staff, students, industry professionals, and other stakeholders.
