Job Overview

Hiretep is seeking a highly skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our backend services and APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop efficient, scalable, and secure backend services and APIs using NodeJS.
  • Work with our PostgreSQL database to design, query, and optimize database performance.
  • Implement and manage block storage solutions for handling large amounts of data.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers and other team members to ensure seamless integration with the backend.
  • Write clean, efficient, and reusable code, following best practices.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
  • Ensure security and data protection standards are implemented across all backend services.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving the development process.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in backend development using NodeJS.
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+) and asynchronous programming.
  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, queries, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with block storage systems and handling large-scale data solutions.
  • Familiarity with RESTful API design and development.
  • Proficiency in version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices in backend development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in an Agile development environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerisation technologies.
  • Knowledge of message queues and event-driven architecture.
