Job Title: Expert Same Day Surgery Coder

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Coding Specialist to join our team in a Same Day Surgery coding role.

About the Role:

  • This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned coder with expertise in same day surgery procedures to apply their skills and knowledge in a dynamic environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate coding of procedures and diagnoses for same day surgeries, adhering to coding guidelines and regulations.
  • They will review medical records, operative reports, and other documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Our ideal candidate will collaborate with clinical staff to clarify documentation when necessary.
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in coding standards, regulations, and best practices is crucial for this role.
  • The selected candidate will provide education and support to clinical staff on proper documentation practices and coding requirements.
  • Assistance in report preparation related to coding accuracy, productivity, and compliance will also be required.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in health information management or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification as a CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), or similar credential is highly desirable.
  • At least 4 years of experience in medical coding, with specific experience in same day surgery coding is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and surgical procedures is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for success in this role.
