Job Title: Senior Azure Data Engineer - Scalable Data Solutions

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Azure Data Engineer to join our team at Ridgeant Technologies. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data solutions using Azure technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement reusable architectures of data pipelines to make data available for various purposes, including machine learning, analytics, and reporting.
  2. Collaborate with system architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders to design and implement data solutions that meet business needs.
  3. Define hardware, tools, and software to enable the reusable framework for data sharing and machine learning model productionization.
  4. Work with structured and unstructured data in various programming languages, including SQL, R, Python, Java, and others.
  5. Advise data scientists on how to optimize program code for maximum efficiency and ensure data quality.
  6. Build data solutions that leverage controls to ensure privacy, security, compliance, and data quality.
  7. Understand metadata management systems and orchestration architecture in designing ML/AI pipelines.
  8. Stay up-to-date with cutting-edge cloud technologies and frameworks to enable data science.
  9. Integrate business intelligence and source transactional systems.
  10. Improve the overall production landscape as required.
  11. Collaborate with data scientists to monitor models post-production.
  12. Participate in code reviews and write unit tests.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in programming languages such as R, Python, Scala, and Java.
  • Strong database knowledge in SQL and experience with Microsoft Azure tools, including Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, Databricks, Azure Stream Analytics, and Power BI.
  • Modern Azure data warehouse skills.
  • Expert Unix/Linux admin experience, including shell script development.
  • Exposure to AI or model development.
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets.
  • Understanding and application of Big Data and distributed computing principles (Hadoop and MapReduce).
  • ML model optimization skills in a production environment.
  • DevOps/DataOps and CI/CD experience.
  • AWS experience (optional).
