Job Opportunity: General Merchandise Category Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Category Manager to lead the General Merchandise team and drive business performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies, managing vendor relationships, and driving category profitability.

This role involves assortment planning, pricing, promotions, and product mix management to deliver strong sales and profitability results. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of customer needs, market trends, and company objectives.

About the Role:
  • Develop and implement category strategy to drive business performance
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure reliable supply and innovation in product range
  • Drive category profitability through effective assortment planning, pricing, and promotions
Key Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with business acumen
  • Negotiation and vendor management expertise
  • Understanding of retail landscape and ability to anticipate trends
  • Customer-centric approach with ability to plan and execute effectively
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field
  • 6–10 years of experience in buying/category management, in General Merchandise or related categories
  • Experience in hypermarket/large-format retail is a must
