Database Developer Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Database Developer to join our team. As a Database Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain SQL Server database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

In this role, you will optimize T-SQL queries, indexes, and execution plans for high performance and ensure efficient data retrieval and resource utilization.

You will collaborate with application developers to design normalized and scalable data structures and ensure seamless integration between SQL Server and Oracle databases.

The successful candidate will implement and monitor database security, backup, recovery, and high availability using Always On Availability Groups and clustering.

You will also support database upgrades, migrations, and integrations between SQL Server and Oracle, troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, blocking/deadlocks, and optimize resource utilization.

Furthermore, you will document standards, best practices, and database architecture across SQL Server and Oracle environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need 6-7 years of total IT experience with 5-6 years in SQL Server database development.

You should have strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022) and hands-on T-SQL development including stored procedures, triggers, functions, and views.

Proven skills in performance tuning, indexing, and execution plan analysis are essential.

A working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL (procedures, packages, functions) is also required.

Hands-on experience with SSIS or equivalent ETL tools is necessary, as well as strong knowledge of backup/recovery strategies, high availability, and disaster recovery.

Experience with database version control and CI/CD deployment practices is highly desirable.
