About the Role

The Freelance UX Researcher will work on various projects, including:

  • Defining research goals and objectives in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Conducting studies into user goals, pain points, and workflows using contextual inquiries, ethnographic research, and interviews
  • Developing research plans using methods such as usability testing, A/B testing, surveys, or advanced MR techniques like conjoint and segmentation
  • Evaluating and analyzing usability, identifying improvement opportunities, and providing evidence-based recommendations
  • Synthesizing and sharing insights through reports, visualizations, and workshops
  • Collaborating across teams to ensure research directly informs product and feature decisions
  • Driving research innovation and contributing to frameworks and methodologies that expand organizational research capabilities
  • Measuring research impact and assessing design effectiveness post-implementation

Key Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in defining qual and quant research goals, investigating user needs, and identifying opportunities to improve workflows and productivity
  • Expertise in evaluating usability through testing and translating insights into actionable design recommendations
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, sharing progress and findings to drive alignment and results
  • A history of independently planning and executing UX/MR research activities using both qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Familiarity with corporate or consulting environments, along with excellent time management, organization, and communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills, including proficiency in creating impactful presentations
  • An understanding of the software development lifecycle and how research integrates into the design process

Preferred Background

BDes/MDes, BE/BTech, or degrees in psychology, cognitive science, human factors, HCI, or related fields are preferred. Bonus points for experience with multi-country research projects.
