Job Description

Role Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned IT Data Architect to lead our Data team in transforming our data practice into a Data as a Service/Self Service Analytics model. As a leader, you will partner with data analysts and scientists to understand their needs, develop a solution architecture, and communicate technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Solution Architecture (75%):

a. Establish and implement baseline architectures for known data requirements.

b. Develop new baseline architectures and identify emerging technologies for new data requirements.

c. Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to design solution paths that meet their needs.

d. Perform quality assurance checks on Data Engineers' deliverables to ensure high-quality products.

Data Engineering & Development (20%):

a. Execute and develop solution paths.

b. Stay current with contemporary techniques and mentor/train Data Engineers.

Data Platform Support & Operations:

a. Develop and lead our Support Operations organization to ensure the Data Platform is up, running, and performant.

b. Provide expertise and escalate issues beyond the Support Operations team's capabilities.

Leadership:

a. Lead teams of data engineers to develop and deploy data solutions.

b. Mentor and train data engineers and peer architects.

c. Maintain curiosity in the fast-paced market of data technologies to stay current and identify opportunities to improve and contemporize our Data platform.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's (BS or BA) or higher degree in a technical field of Information Systems and Technology.
  • Total 8+yrs of Exp.
  • 3+ Years in a Data Engineering role.
  • 1+ Year operating as a Junior Data Architect.
  • Experience in a cloud infrastructure environment (AWS preferred).

Desired:

  • AWS Data Solution Architect certification.
  • Strong communication and/or technical business analyst skillset.
  • Detail oriented. Seeks out information and resources to share with others. Attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, resolve problems, and build solutions in a customer-first environment.
  • Energy and Enthusiasm. Passion for creating scalable, repeatable solutions with a focus on always improving the Data Platform and team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute against multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills with the ability to assist others to gain clear understanding of expected outcomes and knowledge transfer.
