Database Reliability Engineer Job Description
  • This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Database Reliability Engineer. You will be responsible for managing and resolving database-related tickets and production incidents, ensuring the availability, security, and performance of our databases.

The ideal candidate will have experience with MySQL/NoSQL databases, replication, backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies. They will also be proficient in troubleshooting database performance issues and supporting developers with database queries and optimisations.

We are looking for someone who can design and implement high availability, scalability, and archival strategies for databases. Additionally, they should be familiar with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Aurora) and monitoring tools (Grafana, Nagios, Prometheus).

As a Database Reliability Engineer, you will work closely with our development team to ensure the smooth operation of our databases. You will use DevOps tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Git, Kubernetes, Docker) for deployment, automation, and configuration management.

Applicants should have a strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, UDP, Wireshark, tcpdump) for troubleshooting and system performance.

Requirements:
  • Experience with MySQL/NoSQL databases

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting database performance issues
  • Familiarity with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Aurora)
