About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Science Intern to join our team.

As a Data Science Intern, you will work on cutting-edge projects involving financial data analysis, investment research, and risk modeling. You will engage in multiple mini-projects or take up a focused innovation-based research project. The project experience provides practical exposure to data science in asset management, trading, and financial technology.

We provide problem statements, methodology, and showcase sample solutions to help you develop your own projects. You can opt for your own research-based data science solution to develop and model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Preparation: Conduct data cleaning, wrangling, and pre-processing for financial datasets.
  • Investment Support: Assist investment teams in equity research, fixed income research, portfolio management, and economic analysis.
  • Statistical Analysis: Apply statistical techniques to financial problems such as credit risk modeling, probability of default, and value-at-risk estimation.
  • Data Sourcing: Work with big data sources including financial reports, macroeconomic datasets, and alternative investment data.
  • Analysis and Modeling: Use Python, Excel, or R to analyze, visualize, and model financial data.
  • Research Participation: Participate in research projects related to quantitative trading, financial derivatives, and portfolio optimization.

Requirements:

  • Critical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Independence: Able to self-learn and work independently in a remote environment.
  • Technical Skills: No prior coding skills are necessary, but basic knowledge of Excel or Python or R script can be helpful.
