Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Systems Commissioning Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems design, testing, and commissioning with a focus on high-availability designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor installation, submittals, and usage of engineering tools adhering to project and commissioning guidelines.
  • Manage smooth commissioning of the project by coordinating between the company and the contractor.
  • Guide testing processes and motivate specialists to achieve standard results.
  • Assist with identification and redressal of commissioning and malfunction issues.
  • Track and review progress through meetings.
  • Provide input to project management, engineering, and construction to ensure startup requirements are incorporated into project activities, including review of project designs and construction to ensure plant operability and operating personnel safety.
  • Coordinate, as directed, with project management, the startup-related engineering, construction, and client activities as an office assignment or during startup, operations, maintenance, or testing at the jobsite.
  • Feedback lessons learned to construction and engineering.
  • Support the Project Manager to carry out the representativeness of the Company in front of the Client, in all commercial aspects when required.
  • Evaluate contractual commissioning statistics and instruction guidelines in accordance with the needs of the project.

Design Requirements

  • High performance & high availability designs
  • Optimize electrical losses and provide best-in-class PUE for the data center.
  • Track commissioning issues until resolved and closed.
  • - Medium and low voltage power systems
  • - Generators
  • - UPS
  • - HVAC
  • - Chilled Water Systems
  • - Building Management systems (BMS)
  • - Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)
  • - Testing and balancing
  • - Pumps and Hydronic systems

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Mandatory: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
  • Experience:
    • Overall 7-12 years of experience in Electrical & Mechanical Systems designs/testing & Commissioning
    • 3+ years of experience directly related to mission-critical facilities or data center infrastructure,
    • 3+ years of commissioning experience
    • Certification or training specific to NETA, ASHRAE, or Commissioning specific education courses
    • Detailed understanding of critical LV, MV, and HV electrical equipment
    • Detailed understanding of relays, protection schemes, high-voltage circuit breakers, power distribution transformers, electrical switchgear, grounding, and earthing.

Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year.
