Job Opportunity: Lab Specialist II

We are seeking an experienced professional to manage and update laboratory facilities across various sites, ensuring all equipment is up-to-date with calibration and certification requirements.

The Electronic Test team is responsible for electronic test activities on avionics engineering programs. The Lab Specialist works closely with various teams across Aero to update and review electrical and mechanical needs for different test setups as per product specifications.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate expertise in using different lab instruments and tools like DMMs and analyzers.
  • Develop strong work experience with cable harness fabrication (crimping & soldering) according to industry standards.
  • Show detailed knowledge of power types used across labs (AC & DC).
  • Plan lab layouts for various test benches and identify opportunities for lab space optimization.
  • Coordinate electrical and mechanical requirements of labs across HTS sites and support test bench deployment.
  • Cable fabrication, soldering, lab equipment handling, ESD in lab, and IPC-A-610 certification understanding.
  • Exhibit electrical and mechanical integration knowledge.
  • Establish open communication channels with users and collaborate with product teams to understand overall test solution needs.
  • Map competitive landscapes, benchmark designs, and stay updated on technology trends.
  • Be receptive to feedback and constructive criticism.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of industry experience in lab management with hands-on experience in equipment calibration, testing, and maintenance.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to coordinate with different teams across organizations for lab upgrades and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of various cable harnesses and connectors (DSUB, Circular).
  • Familiarity with lab equipment, their functions, and input requirements.
  • Understanding of lab electrical, mechanical, and cooling requirements.
  • Go-getter attitude and ability to navigate complex business scenarios.
  • Understanding of AC and DC power supply systems.
  • Prior experience with test solutions.
